Calling all Lindy hoppers: Swing dance in a music video! (Deadline Feb. 17)

Be part of a new music video for an original swing song from Amy K. and the Mezzcats! The song is called "Dancing in My Dreams," and it's our Valentine to the swing dance community, who we are missing very much during the pandemic. I wrote the song in 2020 and we recorded it all remotely from home, and have been mixing it along the way with help from my producer, Ariel Bernstein. It features music and lyrics by Amy Kucharik and horn arrangement by Kucharik and Tim Lewandowski, and I'm really proud of how it's coming along! The musicians are:

Your participation is simple. Record yourself dancing to the song (here's a SECRET LINK where you can get the working track on SoundCloud!) and send me the file, and I'll include you in the music video! When it's done, I'll send you the link to share on social media, plus a finished recording of the song. 

Here are the specifics:
  • All ages, genders, and body types are encouraged!
  • Dance solo, partnered, or with a group -- but please be safe regarding COVID-19 and do not dance with anyone outside your household.
  • Lindy hop / swing dancing / Charleston other vintage jazz dance styles are strongly preferred, but you don't have to be a professional. Beginners welcome!
  • Keep the absurdly long count-in to the song when you record; this will help me line things up.
  • Wear all black or red and black, and look classy.
  • Please, no logos or brand names on your clothing or in the shot, and use as plain / tidy a background as possible.
  • MOV files are preferred if possible, but I will take whatever you can give me!
  • Submit your finished video to my Google Drive folder or email (4stringserenade at gmail dot com) by Feb. 17, 2021. Put your name in the file name you submit.
  • Important: Also email me with the subject line DANCING IN MY DREAMS and include your name as you would like to be listed in the credits.

Optional choreography: ALPHA phrase from Lindy Bomb Squad

This is not required, but will look really cool! During the last "A" section of the song (when vocals come back in after the instrumental solos), we suggest the following sequence as demonstrated by Brian and Kellian Pletcher of the Lindy Bomb Squad (who will be featured in the video). Obviously, this will work best as a partnered dance, but maybe you'll figure out a solo version!
