Superb Strumming

5 Mondays: April 12-May 10, 6-7:00pm EDT via Zoom
Picture
There's more to ukulele than just strumming up and down... Or is there? This workshop will explore patterns, groove, and techniques (including palm and fret-hand muting) across a variety of songs, genres and styles to take your rhythm uke to the next level. Learn to read rhythm markings and recognize different patterns when you listen to songs. We'll attempt to answer the question: "Which strum pattern should I use?"

You should be comfortable strumming up and down with your index finger, playing basic chords (C, Am, G, G7, Dm, D, A, Em, etc.), and changing between them at a moderate pace. Barre chord experience is helpful but not required. We will review chords; song sheets and handouts will be emailed prior to each session.
